Azerbaijani Education Ministry to create specialized lyceums and gymnasiums for gifted children

Baku, Fineko/ This February the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan is likely to set up a working group to prepare a project for creation of specialized lyceums and gymnasiums for gifted children.

The relevant projects to be approved before late 2012 will be prepared in March and July in accord with the order of Education Minister Misir Mardanov. Sources of financing for new schools should be defined as well.

The Ministry is also planning creation of special schools for gifted children in Baku and regions of the country and consideration of the matter of transfer of lyceums and gymnasiums with a definite bias under authority of appropriate universities and making of practical proposals.

During 2012 the Ministry should develop a schedule plan for 2012-13 on establishment of lyceums and gymnasia in regions, and opening of lyceum classes in regional schools.

Measures aimed at improving work of created-on-site “Little Academies”, special contests of knowledge among pupils of these schools.
